A logo and visual identity system built on storytelling, movement, and trust.
When Tornetta Communications Collaborative came to us for a brand identity, the brief was clear: this is a strategic communications firm whose work is all about shaping narrative, building trust, and guiding audiences toward action. The identity needed to feel established and credible, but also warm and human — a firm that listens as much as it speaks.
The Concept
The centerpiece of the mark is a simple visual pun: the “O” in TORNETTA becomes a rising sun, rendered in a warm gold ellipse nested inside a wide, classic serif wordmark. It’s a small detail, but it does a lot of work — it signals optimism and clarity without shouting, and it gives the logo a distinctive focal point that holds up whether it’s stamped large on a cover page or shrunk down to a favicon.
That sunrise motif carries through into a set of secondary marks and stand-alone brand elements: a circular badge lockup for social avatars and stamps, and a flowing wave line that recurs throughout the system. The waves nod to communication itself — signal, rhythm, ripple effect — and give the collateral a sense of movement so the brand never feels static or corporate-stiff.
Logo System
The identity was built as a full family rather than a single fixed logo, so it can flex across every application:
- Primary logo: the full wordmark with tagline, for main brand moments
- Secondary logo: wordmark paired with the wave underline for a more dynamic placement
- Circular badge: a compact, symmetrical version for social profiles, packaging, or anywhere a square/circle format is needed
- Reverse (one-color white) for dark backgrounds
- One-color black and white versions: for light and dark backgrounds where full color isn’t practical, such as single-color print or engraving
Clear space, minimum sizing (1.5 in / 38mm for print, 150px for digital), and aspect-ratio rules were all defined to keep the mark consistent as it travels across the client’s marketing touchpoints — and to protect it from the classic misuses (stretching, skewing, off-palette recoloring) that quietly erode a brand over time.
